Dell sells very different laptops under one badge. Inspiron and the older Studio machines are home laptops. Latitude and Vostro are built for offices, XPS is the slim high-end line, Precision covers mobile workstations and the G Series is for gaming. We repair and upgrade all of them, along with Dell Chromebooks and the older Studio XPS and Adamo XPS models. Alienware, which Dell owns, has a page of its own.
Hinges, screens and power sockets
A hinge stiffens with age, and a stiff hinge puts its strain on the plastic it is screwed into until the mounting cracks. If the lid has started to creak or lift at one corner, bring it in before it damages the screen or its cable.
A dark screen with a faint image still visible is usually the backlight, or on older models the inverter that powers it, and not the whole panel. A cracked LCD does need replacing, at a guide price of £60 + cost of screen.
The DC power jack is the other regular. If your Dell only charges when the plug is wiggled, the socket has worked loose. Replacing the power connector costs £95 + VAT to £135 + VAT as a guide.

Almost all simple faults are fixed the same day. More complex ones take a day or two. We fit high-quality parts matched to your model, genuine wherever possible, and the repair is covered by a warranty that includes the parts.
There are no hidden fees. You get a free estimate first, and the price we quote is the price we charge. The price list shows guide figures for common jobs.
Collection from your home or office
We can collect your Dell, fix it and bring it back, with no charge for the collection or return. You are also welcome to drop it in at North End Road, or have a technician visit your workplace if several machines need looking at.
